In 2024, GoQuest Media took a bold step in a new direction by launching its first co-production project, the Turkish daily drama Kuma (The Other Wife). “We achieved a milestone when less than three months after postproduction, the series was licensed to multiple countries, including key channels in CEE, Asia and Latin America,” says Jimmy George, VP of sales and acquisitions. “We also formed strategic distribution partnerships this year with companies that share our passion for backing stories with heart.”

Continuing to extend the reach of its catalog, GoQuest secured several key deals this year, including licensing the police procedural Crusade to Walter Presents in the U.K. and Ireland and the period crime drama Erinyes to Cosmote TV in Greece and LRT in Lithuania. It also optioned the dramedies Troll Farm and Divorce in Peace in India.

“To further strengthen our growth, we expanded our distribution teams with new hires and added exciting new titles to our premium catalog,” George says. “All in all, 2024 has been a year of many milestones and valuable lessons, and we are eager to carry this momentum into 2025.”

Adding to this momentum, GoQuest expanded the reach of its catalog titles from CEE into new territories and started distributing Disney Star titles in Africa. It also produced and distributed a Turkish drama “with a focus on telling a compelling story with high production values and broad appeal to Turkish fans worldwide,” George says. “The success of projects like these, along with the strong pipeline we’ve built featuring high-quality dramas from Eastern Europe, will continue to fuel our growth in the coming year.”

GoQuest has successfully implemented its make-to-sell strategy and will be building on that in 2025. “Kuma was completed within the budget and timeline we set from the very beginning of the project, and this achievement is thanks to our production partners, Stellar Yapım and VIP 2000 TV,” says George. “We’ve already presold the series to multiple territories, with additional deals expected to close soon. Moving forward, we plan to explore more co-production opportunities, expanding from producing Turkish series to exploring content in other languages, all while staying true to our commitment to backing stories with broad audience appeal.”

The company plans to continue expanding its co-production business by investing in dramas in Turkish and other languages, based on market viability. GoQuest is in discussions for another Turkish series with a production company and is eager to explore more co-financing opportunities with like-minded investors and co-producers who share its vision. It will also be evaluating new formats and avenues for monetization. George adds, “Our goal of building a premium library will remain a key focus in the year ahead.”

First up on the calendar in 2025 for the company are Content Americas and NATPE Global. “Our focus will be on strengthening relationships and driving growth in the ready-made and format sales sectors and securing key co-production partnerships for our upcoming projects,” George says. “Regarding content, GoQuest will showcase its latest acquisitions, offering compelling stories for Spanish- and English-speaking audiences.”

Putting it in prime position for 2025, GoQuest has been empowering its teams to scale up in drama production while actively pursuing new partnerships to continue building IP that will resonate with a global audience. “This approach will help us enhance our capabilities, broaden our reach and continue to deliver high-quality content across multiple regions,” George says.
