Ruthless City Lands Portuguese Adaptation

Portuguese broadcaster SIC has acquired the rights to adapt the Turkish soap opera Ruthless City from Kanal D International.

Set to bow this month, the Portuguese adaptation tells the story of two families whose paths cross through a fateful deal. Both are put to the test as secrets are revealed.

Format sales are a growth area for Kanal D International, which sold the adaptation rights of Fatmagül to Spain and in the past and currently has agreements in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Unlike Fatmagül, which Atresmedia adapted as a 13-episode premium series, SIC will adapt Ruthless City as a long-running soap opera in Portuguese.
