RTL Crime Orders Remake of Fritz Lang’s M

RTL Crime has ordered its first original drama, M: A City Looks for a Murderer (M: Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder).

Based on the 1931 Fritz Lang movie of the same name, the six-episode miniseries tells the story of a city faced with a set of child murders and how they affect the individual layers of society. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Vienna in early 2018.

M: A City Looks for a Murderer is a co-production of RTL Crime, ORF and Superfilm, with support from Fernsehfonds Austria and Filmfonds Wien. It is being produced by John Lueftner and David Schalko. Schalko also serves as director and wrote the script with Evi Romen. The international ensemble cast of more than 100 members includes Verena Altenberger, Bela B, Moritz Bleibtreu, Christian Dolezal, Lars Eidinger, Michael Fuith, Udo Kier, Christoph Krutzler, Gerhard Liebmann, Dominik Maringer, Johanna Orsini-Rosenberg, André Pohl, Sophie Rois and Julia Stemberger.
