Projects Selected for In Development Drama Creative Forum

MIPTV and Canneseries have revealed the 12 projects in the official selection of In Development, the two-day Cannes Drama Creative Forum dedicated to fast-tracking drama series production.

In Development is co-organized by MIPTV and Canneseries and takes place alongside these two events, from April 10 to 11. The forum will provide the opportunity for screenwriters and producers to pitch and seek finance and broadcast partners for new drama productions at an international level. Out of 344 submissions, an international jury of drama experts shortlisted 12 projects representing 10 different countries.

The selected projects are: Angelica (U.S.), Dead Head (New Zealand), GR5 (Belgium), Les Misérables (France), Strange Fishing Sundays (Spain), The Machinery (Sweden), The Sources of Evil (Germany) and Whatever, Linda (Canada). Early-stage projects selected are: Class A (U.K.), Revival (Canada), Selfies (U.K.) and Violator (Iceland).

“The 12 selected projects are the perfect illustration of the richness of global talent, across all territories and in all genres. We’re delighted to provide a showcase for these projects, all of which have strong potential in the international market,” said Laurine Garaude, the director of television at Reed MIDEM, which organizes MIPTV.

“The DNA of this event is to highlight new voices and tomorrow’s talents. We are very proud of the 12 selected projects and honored to give these authors and producers the opportunity to meet the best of the industry in an original and unique way,” said Benoît Louvet, Canneseries’ managing director.

The Digital Short Form Series Pitch, for creators and producers of digital short-form drama series, has as finalists: Beast (U.S.), Big G (France), Dead Line (Argentina), dxyz (South Korea), The G.O.A.T (Australia) and Made with Love (Canada).
