Production Begins on Good Wife Spin-Off

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES: Production has begun in New York City on The Good Fight, the spin-off of The Good Wife that is set to premiere next year.

The Good Fight will debut in February 2017 with a special broadcast on CBS and will then move exclusively to CBS All Access. The series picks up one year after the events of the final broadcast episode of The Good Wife. In the aftermath of a financial scam, young lawyer Maia and her mentor Diane Lockhart are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s preeminent law firms.

Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of The Good Wife, return as showrunners and executive producers on the new series. The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel.

Phil Alden Robinson co-wrote and will executive produce the premiere episode with the Kings. Executive producer Brooke Kennedy is directing the first episode. Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, Kennedy and Alison Cross serve as executive producers on the show. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. It will be distributed worldwide by CBS Studios International.
