Production Begins on Final Season of Rectify

NEW YORK: Production has started on the fourth and final season of SundanceTV’s Rectify, which will feature as new cast members Nathan Darrow (House of Cards, Gotham) and Scott Lawrence (Avatar, Getting On).

Rectify follows the life of Daniel Holden (Aden Young), who returns to his small hometown in Georgia after serving 19 years on death row. At the end of season three, Daniel was banished from the town as part of a plea deal and set out to start his new life in Nashville. The new season picks up a few months later and introduces several new cast members. Darrow will join as Billy, an old classmate of Daniel’s younger sister. Lawrence plays Avery, the leader of Daniel’s halfway house.

The episodic drama was created and written by Ray McKinnon (The Accountant) and is executive produced by McKinnon, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein—the producers behind Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Halt and Catch Fire—and Marshall Persinger (Army Wives). The new season of eight hour-long episodes will air in the fall.

Rectify put SundanceTV on the map as a destination for smart, provocative and completely original storytelling when it launched in 2013,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. “Lauded by critics from the start, Rectify is a unique and beautiful piece of television artistry, and we are certain that the final chapter of Daniel’s story will cement this show’s place in television history.”
