Prime Video Sets New Colombian Original Film

Prime Video is readying the Colombian original movie Pimpinero: Blood and Oil for its debut on the streamer later this year.

Produced by Dynamo and written by María Camila Arias (Birds of Passage) and Andrés Baiz (Griselda, Narcos), who also produces and directs, the title is set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another.

The cast features Alberto Guerra (Griselda), Alejandro Speitzer (La Cabeza de Joaquin Murrieta), Laura Osma (Goles en contra) and artist Juanes in his acting debut.

Pimpinero: Blood and Oil is slated to celebrate its world premiere at the 49th annual Toronto International Film Festival on September 9 as part of the International Centerpiece program.
