Patrick Nebout Joins Sparkling

Patrick Nebout, most recently chief content officer at Dramacorp, has been tapped as president and chief content officer of Sparkling, the European sister company of graphic novel publisher Humanoids.

Sparkling is focused on developing drama series in Europe, as well as producing and financing series and movies based on Humanoids IP. Sparkling’s Nordic production outlet Skyverse is already working on Cannes Confidential for Acorn TV, TF1 and Viaplay and is set to produce the cold war dramedy Whiskey on the Rocks, based on a storyline by best-selling Swedish author Jonas Jonasson and penned by Henrik Jansson-Schweizer.

“It’s been five exciting years and an honor working with Jan Mojto to set up Beta’s Nordic scripted activities,” said Nebout. “Now, disruptive times call for disruptive creative and production models. It’s a whole new world out there, and Sparkling, along with Humanoids, is set for an amazing journey that I’m eager to take part in. We’ll be focusing on unique, strong, recognizable and scalable IP that cuts through the noise and has clear global potential. Our approach is nimble and agile, with a bullish view to produce across several territories and markets, with innovative financial and production setups designed to secure control over the IP. We will be expanding to new territories in the very near term.”

The Sparkling team includes Jansson-Schweizer as creative director for the Nordic region and Magnus Bimberg as VP of production finance and business affairs.
