Paramount+ has renewed a slew of series, including its second most-watched original, Mayor of Kingstown.

First launched in November 2021, the series hails from Yellowstone co-creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. Following a family of power brokers in Michigan where incarceration is the only thriving industry, the series tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality.

Season one of Mayor of Kingstown starred Jeremy Renner, Dianne Wiest, Kyle Chandler, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Pha’rez Lass and Aidan Gillen. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

“With Mayor of Kingstown, Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon offer a nuanced portrayal of the United States’ harsh prison system,” said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer at ViacomCBS Streaming. “The stellar crew and cast, including Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest, delivered a thought-provoking, intense drama that kept audiences captivated and yearning for more. We are thrilled to be the home of the expanding Taylor Sheridan universe, and we look forward to bringing fans back to Kingstown next season.”

“We are thrilled that shows like Mayor of Kingstown—original stories with layered characters and important themes—are able to thrive on Paramount+,” said executive producer David C. Glasser. “We can’t wait to delve back into the lives of the McLusky family for season two.”

Additionally, The Game has been renewed for a second season. From CBS Studios, Inphiniti Entertainment, Akil Productions and Grammnet NH Production, the series offers a modern-day examination of Black culture through the prism of pro football. Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, Analisa Velez and Toby Sandeman star.

The Game is executive produced by showrunner and writer Devon Greggory, original show creator Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil, original executive producer Kelsey Grammer and Tom Russo of Grammnet NH Productions.

“With ample humor and heart, Devon Greggory reimagined an iconic series, brought back beloved legacy characters and introduced new fan favorites,” said Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “As Tasha Mack says, ‘Game recognizes game,’ and audiences continue to discover the series on Paramount+. We look forward to what Devon and his team have in store for us next season on and off the field.”

Paramount+ has also renewed the hit military drama SEAL Team for a sixth season. The series, which follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of the Navy SEALs, stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley and Toni Trucks. It is produced by CBS Studios.

“We are very excited to welcome SEAL Team back for another season on Paramount+,” Clemens said. “The show’s loyal fanbase followed the series to its new exclusive home, and it has proven to be a high-performing title for the service, consistently in the top ten most-watched original series. We can’t wait for the fans to see what our brilliant creative team has in store for Team Bravo next season!”
