Paramount+, CBC and Piazza Entertainment have begun production on season two of the medical drama SkyMed, with filming taking place in Ontario and Manitoba.

The second season will see the return of the young medics and pilots of the medevac service in remote Northern Canada, with more lives on the line and drama in their personal lives.

SkyMed, produced by Piazza Entertainment in association with CBC and CBS Studios, is created by Julie Puckrin and inspired by her sister and brother-in-law, who met while flying air ambulances. Puckrin serves as executive producer alongside Gillian Hormel and Vanessa Piazza.

The cast of season one will return, and new additions include Sydney Kuhne (Ginny & Georgia), Ryan Ali (The Hummingbird Project) and Nadine Whiteman-Roden (Faith Heist).

SkyMed is available in Canada on CBC TV and CBC Gem, and it streams on Paramount+ in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France and Germany. Paramount Global Content Distribution distributes the series outside of Canada.
