Pachinko Renewed by Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has ordered a second season of its hit drama Pachinko, based on the best-selling novel of the same name.

The series chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in a quest to survive and thrive. The season one finale recently debuted on April 29.

Pachinko stars Academy Award-winning actor Yuh-Jung Youn, Lee Minho, Jin Ha, Minha Kim, Anna Sawai, Eunchae Jung, Inji Jeong, Jimmi Simpson, Junwoo Han, Kaho Minami, Steve Sanghyun Noh, Soji Arai and Yuna.

The series is created, written and executive produced by showrunner Soo Hugh. Kogonada and Justin Chon directed four episodes each of season one. They also executive produce, alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res, the studio behind the series; Theresa Kang-Lowe for Blue Marble Pictures; and Richard Middleton. Sebastian Lee and David Kim co-executive produce.
