Oble TV has signed a deal with Attraction Distribution and ALSO Productions to remake the French-Canadian crime series The Sketch Artist in France.

This deal comes after the series’ ready-to-air rights were acquired by SBS (Australia), Lumière (Benelux), BookMyShow (India), Globo (Brazil) and GSN (Scandinavia). A second season of the original production has also been greenlit and is set to release this year.

“We are thrilled by the high caliber of these initial champions of the show,” said Xiaojuan Zhou, president of Attraction Distribution. “We can say that the series will be seen on at least four continents outside Canada, which reflects its universal appeal. We hope that it’s nothing but the beginning of a wonderful journey for all of us and that more territories will onboard in the coming months.”

Alexis Durand-Brault, co-creator and co-director, said, “With great delight and gratitude, we take note of the initial embrace of our production by these prestigious companies around the world. We have made the series with international audiences in mind and hope they will enjoy it as much as we did when creating it.”
