Nippon TV has secured a deal for its award-winning drama series Homeroom to be localized in Thailand in partnership with Juvenile (JUVE9).

The series is scheduled to begin streaming on the TrueID platform in the fourth quarter of 2024. Homeroom was previously adapted in Turkey in 2020.

JUVE9 had also previously acquired the Thai adaptation rights to Nippon TV’s Mother, as well as Abandoned.

“Thiti’s team has a proven track record of creating hit series, and the Thai version of our Homeroom is already looking very promising, featuring many future stars from Thailand,” commented Moe Kanzaki, sales and licensing of scripted formats for global business at Nippon TV. “This impactful series opened many doors for Japanese actors and creators, and I firmly believe it will do the same in Thailand and globally as well. The creators of Nippon TV’s original Homeroom have recently produced The Greatest Teacher, breaking Nippon TV’s record number of views on AVOD, and we look forward to introducing both series at MIPCOM.”

Thiti Sutthikulphanich, executive producer for JUVE9, said: “We are extremely happy to be working with Nippon TV again for the third time. After the successes we had with Mother and Abandoned, the whole team is very excited to be working on the Homeroom adaptation. The theme of the story is very universal, so we are optimistic that it will be well-received by the Thai audiences.”
