New Seasons of Homeland & The Affair for Showtime

NEW YORK: Homeland and The Affair, the top two highest-rated scripted programs on premium television this fall, have been renewed by Showtime for sixth and third seasons, respectively.

Homeland stars Claire Danes as a bipolar CIA agent. The show, based on the Israeli format Prisoners of War, was developed for the U.S. by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon. The fifth season finale is slated for broadcast on December 20 at 9 p.m.

Created by Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, The Affair explores the psychological effects of an extramarital affair. The cast is led by Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson. The second season's extended finale will air on December 20 at 10 p.m.
