STOCKHOLM: The Turkish daily drama Elif has been licensed by Eccho Rights to six new broadcasters.

From Green Yapim, Elif is now headed to Mexico, Paraguay, Hungary, Puerto Rico, Pakistan and Honduras. These new deals bring the total number of international sales for the drama series to 22.

In Turkey, Elif celebrated its 500th episode on Monday, with Eccho Rights estimating a total of 650 commercial hours available by the end of the current run this summer.

Elif is a remarkable story and its success shows no signs of slowing down,” said Handan Özkubat, the head of Eccho Rights’ Istanbul office. “Our clients are constantly telling me how thrilled they are with the series, generating ratings and share regularly two or three times their averages. It is a lower budget series but this has no effect on the quality of the storytelling, which hits home with audiences in every territory it has aired.”
