Cineflix Rights has signed deals in Europe and Latin America for the Israeli police corruption drama Manayek.

ARTE has picked up season one for France and Germany. The drama was also acquired for HBO Max in Latin America.

From Yoav Gross Productions for Kan 11 in Israel, Manayek follows the story of Izzy Bachar (Shalom Assayag, Kfula), a veteran internal affairs investigator who stumbles upon a police corruption case where the prime suspect is his best friend. Manayek won Best Drama Series, Best Director in a Drama Series, Best Screenplay for a Drama Series, Best Leading Actor in a Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 2021 Israeli Academy of Film and Television Awards.

Cineflix Rights has also secured season two.

James Durie, head of scripted at Cineflix Rights, said: “Manayek has already been a huge hit in Israel and—as we roll out international sales—we anticipate that the series has the same global potential as Tehran. We’re thrilled to be bringing Manayek to ARTE’s viewers in Europe and HBO’s subscribers in Latin America, and we have several more sales in negotiation. We’re also delighted to be picking up season two from Yoav Gross Productions; the cast and story look to be every bit as strong as the first season.”

Yoav Gross, CEO and founder of Yoav Gross Productions, said: “It’s a great thrill and honor to finally bring Manayek to viewers in Europe and in Latin America. For us so far, it’s been an amazing journey with this remarkable series, and we are blessed with the huge success it already received in Israel. We are sure that the international audience will find in the series all the elements that made it so successful.”
