Netflix Lines Up Mystery Thriller from Howard Gordon & Gabe Rotter

Netflix has ordered the limited series The Beast in Me from creator Gabe Rotter (The X-Files) and showrunner Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24, The X-Files).

The mystery thriller, starring and executive produced by Claire Danes (Fleishman is in Trouble, Homeland), centers on an acclaimed author who retreats from public life after the tragic death of her young son. She finds a subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by a famed real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.

She finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth in a game of cat-and-mouse that is on the edge of turning deadly.

The Beast in Me comes from 20th Television. Executive producers are Rotter, Gordon, Danes, Daniel Pearle (American Crime Story) and Jodie Foster, as well as Conaco’s Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger. Rotter is writing the series.
