Netflix Casts Freida Pinto in Unaccustomed Earth

Netflix has cast Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Mr. Malcolm’s List) as Parul Chaudhury in Unaccustomed Earth.

Inspired by the Jhumpa Lahiri short story collection, Unaccustomed Earth is an epic, soapy and culturally vibrant drama about a tight-knit Indian-American community navigating love, desire and belonging.

Unaccustomed Earth comes from showrunner and writer Madhuri Shekar (3 Body Problem, The Nevers), director Ritesh Batra, executive producer John Wells (The Pitt, Shameless) and Warner Bros. Television. This new drama series is also executive-produced by Madhuri Shekar, Ritesh Batra, Jhumpa Lahiri, Nisha Ganatra, Erica Saleh, Erin Jontow and Celia Costas.
