Netflix Begins Production on Crime Drama Adolescence

Netflix has begun production on Adolescence (w.t.), a new crime drama in which each episode is filmed in one continuous shot.

The four-parter is being led by Stephen Graham (Boiling Point, Bodies), Ashley Walters (Top Boy), Erin Doherty (The Crown) and Owen Cooper. It tells the story of how one family’s world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller is arrested and charged with the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school.

Cooper stars as Jamie, while Graham plays his father. Walter stars as a detective inspector assigned to the case, and Doherty plays the clinical psychologist assigned to handle Jamie.

Additional cast members are Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones), Christine Tremarco (The Responder), Mark Stanley (Happy Valley), Jo Hartley (After Life) and newcomer Amélie Pease

Adolescence is being directed by Philip Barantini (Boiling Point). It is created and written by Graham and Jack Thorne (The Swimmers, Joy). It is being produced by Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B Entertainment for Netflix.
