NBC Orders New Seasons of Law & Order & Chicago Series

NBC has handed out a slew of renewals for series within its Law & Order and Chicago franchises for the 2024-25 broadcast season.

This includes a 26th season of Law & Order: SVU and a 24th of Law & Order. In the Chicago franchise, Chicago Fire will be getting a 13th season, Chicago P.D. a 12th and Chicago Med a 10th. All five series are produced by Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment.

Law & Order: SVU, currently airing its 25th season, is the number one entertainment show in the 18-49 demo on Thursdays, according to NBC, which also reports that Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. are the top three Wednesday shows this season in total viewers. All three rank among the top ten prime-time entertainment shows of the season.

Across all platforms, NBC reports that all five shows are up double and triple digits versus the prior season in total viewers and the 18-49 demo.

A renewal for Law & Order: Organized Crime is still under discussion.
