NATPE Spotlight: Star India

The Star India drama Saras & Kumud has seen success across Latin America, and the company has a range of new offerings that it hopes will resonate across the LatAm region as well.

This includes The Wait for Love (Love Ka Hai Intezaar), about an actress who falls for a prince, and the first season of Strange Love (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon), telling the story of Arnav, who is rich and arrogant, and Khushi, who is bubbly and well-mannered. With sales into more than 50 countries, Strange Love has been “Star India’s biggest international hit,” according to Gurjeev Kapoor, the company’s president of international business. This is Love (Yeh Hai Mohabbatein) is “another international blockbuster and one of the most successful and long-running shows on Indian TV,” he adds.

“The power of good storytelling has enabled our content to travel to more than 100 countries, where viewers have enjoyed it in their native languages,” Kapoor says.
