Fremantle’s acclaimed Italian-language drama My Brilliant Friend has notched up a number of new deals in Europe, including in Germany with Deutsche Telekom and Austria with ORF.

Based on the first novel in Elena Ferrante’s four-part Neapolitan book series, the HBO, Rai Fiction and TIMVISION production has also been licensed by Teleclub for German-speaking Switzerland and SRF for German-speaking Switzerland. In addition, STUDIOCANAL will release the eight-part drama on DVD, Blu-Ray and EST/TVOD in German-speaking Europe and in the U.K.

Maximilian Bolenius, senior VP of German-speaking Europe and Israel at Fremantle, noted, “We are proud to have found the perfect partners for this exceptional drama across German-speaking Europe. They are renowned for their breadth of content, so their impressive launch plans and promotional activities for My Brilliant Friend are testaments to the exquisite execution by Wildside and the incredible creative team behind the series. We’ve no doubt each launch will be an exciting event.”

From Fremantle-owned Wildside in Italy and directed by Saverio Costanzo, My Brilliant Friend has been licensed into more than 150 territories.
