More Than Blue, a new drama series from mm2 Entertainment Taiwan, has commenced production in Taipei.

Made in association with Good Movie Co. and co-produced by Medialink Holdings, 1 Production Film Co. and Abico Group, the ten-episode romance series is based on the 2018 Taiwanese film of the same name, itself an adaptation of a 2009 Korean movie.

Screenwriter Hermes Lu, who wrote the movie and the series, noted, “I am very thankful and glad that More Than Blue is being adapted into a drama series. The ten-episode length of the series gives the screenwriting team the opportunity to deliver a more complete storyline that will move the hearts of the audience. Hopefully, when the drama is released, the audience will be so moved that they will need a packet of tissue to wipe their tears during every episode.”

Director Gavin Lin has also returned to helm the series, which stars Gingle Wang, Fandy Fan, Bo-Chieh Wang, Ivy Shao, Eleven Yao, Figaro Tseng, Phoebe Yuan, Ma Nien-Hsien, Tsai Jia-yin and Runyin Bai. The series is expected to be aired in 2021, with negotiations with platforms ongoing. International distribution will be handled jointly by mm2 Entertainment Taiwan and Medialink Entertainment.
