Mischa Barton Joins Neighbours Reboot

Mischa Barton (The O.C.) has joined the cast of Amazon Freevee and Fremantle’s upcoming reboot of Neighbours.

Barton will feature as a guest star, playing Reece, an American new to Erinsborough who is not quite who she appears to be.

The new chapter of Neighbours recently started production in Melbourne and is set to launch on Amazon Freevee in the U.K. and the U.S. in fall 2023. It continues the long-running soap series, which had its finale in 2022. It will stream on Prime Video in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.

“With Neighbours launching on Amazon Freevee in North America, we are beyond excited to have an actor of Mischa’s caliber join us for the beginning of this exciting new chapter,” said Jason Herbison, executive producer for Neighbours. “Mischa’s character is dynamic and unpredictable and will have an instant presence on Ramsay Street. Our loyal viewers are going to love her, locally and abroad.”
