Michael C. Hall to Star in New Dexter Sequel Series

Michael C. Hall, who starred in the original Dexter series, is returning to the franchise for the all-new Dexter: Resurrection and the previously announced Dexter: Original Sin origin story.

Hall will return as Dexter Morgan in both series. He will star in Dexter: Resurrection, set in the present day, and narrate the inner voice of a young Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) in Dexter: Original Sin, which takes place in the 1990s.

Hall will also serve as EP alongside executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Nurse Jackie).

Dexter originally premiered in the fall of 2006 on Showtime and ran for eight seasons. In 2021, Dexter: New Blood premiered, a limited series set ten years after the conclusion of the original.

“We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s most successful series ever,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president and CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “While Dexter: Resurrection will appeal to the tens of millions of longtime fans, Dexter: Original Sin will introduce a whole new generation of viewers into this iconic series by starting from the beginning, which is sure to satisfy existing audiences as well.”
