Matthew Rhys Joins Netflix’s The Beast in Me

Matthew Rhys (The Americans) has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix thriller The Beast in Me, from creator and writer Gabe Rotter (The X-Files) and showrunner Howard Gordon (Accused, Homeland).

In the series, an acclaimed author, played by Claire Danes (Homeland, Fleishman Is in Trouble), finds herself unable to write after the tragic death of her young son. She finds a subject for her next book, however, when the house next door is bought by a real-estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. Rhys will star as the new neighbor.

The series is executive produced by Rotter, Gordon, Danes, director Antonio Campos (The Staircase, The Devil All the Time), Daniel Pearle (American Crime Story) and Jodie Foster, as well as Conaco’s Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger. It comes from 20th Television.
