LEONINE Studios has licensed the SVOD rights for the crime drama Troppo to Viaplay for the Nordics, the Netherlands, Poland and the Baltic region, while Amazon Freevee acquired the AVOD rights for Germany and the U.K.

Based on the successful Crimson Lake novel series written by New York Times best-selling author Candice Fox, the series premiered on Australia’s ABC and in the U.S. on Amazon Freevee.

Thomas Jane (1922, Hung, The Punisher, Boogie Nights) stars in the series as down-and-out ex-cop Ted Conkaffey, who is recruited by an eccentric small-town private investigator, played by Nicole Chamoun (On the Ropes, Safe Harbour), to investigate the murder of a brilliant tech pioneer.

Troppo was created and written by Yolanda Ramke (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Cargo), who co-directed the series with Jocelyn Moorhouse (Wakefield, The Dressmaker), Catherine Millar (Twisted), Ben Howling (Cargo) and Grant Brown (Rush).
