Landmark & District 33 Team for Shadows in the Vineyard

Landmark Studio Group has partnered with District 33 to develop and produce the new limited event drama series Shadows in the Vineyard, with Noah Wyle (The Red Line, Falling Skies, ER) and Judith Light (The Politician, Transparent, Ugly Betty) set to star and executive produce.

The story is based on the true tale of a plot to destroy the vines of La Romance-Conti, Burgundy’s finest and most expensive wine, as featured in journalist Maximillian Potter’s best-selling book Shadows in the Vineyard: The True Story of the Plot to Poison the World’s Greatest Wine. The new series will be scripted by John Newman (Get Shorty, Proud Mary), Peter Cambor and Potter.

Shadows in the Vineyard will be executive produced by Cambor and Sam Widdoes of District 33, Potter, Newman, Light, Wyle and Landmark’s David Ozer and Tim Rouhana. Production is slated to begin in Q1 2021 in Europe.

When I was losing faith in the world and my fellow man, burned out by the ugliness I had been covering as a journalist, Burgundy came out of nowhere and restored my faith in life, in humanity. The world needs to know a place and people like Burgundy exists as it gives us all hope and something to aspire to. Maybe now more than ever.”
