Kyle Chandler Cast in Catch-22, George Clooney Shifts Roles

Kyle Chandler has been cast as Colonel Cathcart in Hulu’s six-part limited series Catch-22, which comes from Paramount Television, Anonymous Content, George Clooney and Grant Heslov.

Chandler’s character is a colonel who takes himself very seriously. The actor was awarded with a Primetime Emmy for his portrayal of Coach Taylor in Friday Night Lights, in addition to receiving back-to-back Primetime Emmy nominations for his performance in Bloodline.

Clooney will now play Scheisskopf in Catch-22. Scheisskopf is a training commander at cadet school in California who is ambitious, humorless, inept, angry, sadistic and, above all else, obsessed with parades and winning parade tournaments.

It was previously announced that Hugh Laurie will play Major de Coverley.

Based on Joseph Heller’s novel of the same name, Catch-22 is the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him.
