Keshet UK Appoints Head of Drama

LONDON: Howard Burch has joined Keshet UK as its head of drama, bolstering the company’s efforts to produce more premium scripted programming in-house.

Prior to joining Keshet, Burch was head of television at Vertigo Films. He also held roles as associate editor of the drama department at Channel 4 and as head of drama development at Kudos. His production, script writing and development credits at Kudos include such series as Ashes to Ashes, Moving Wallpaper and the BAFTA-winning Spooks.

Burch will be working alongside Sara Johnson, executive producer and head of co-productions, and Andrea Michell, development producer for scripted.

Sammy Nourmand, the managing director of Keshet UK, said: “The idea was to build on the great work of Sara and Andrea over the past three years and expand our in-house production capability. We are delighted the opportunity to work with a producer of Howard’s caliber presented itself to us and look forward to welcoming him to the Keshet family.”

Burch said, “I loved Keshet’s content and its potential. The idea of having that backing as well as the opportunity to create new home-grown scripted series was very appealing.”
