Kenyan Series New Beginnings to Air on FilmBox Africa

SPI International/FilmBox Channels Group has acquired the worldwide rights for the weekly drama New Beginnings from Insignia Productions.

The popular Kenyan drama series is about a three-way love affair between Julia, Derek and his best friend Sean. The show tracks their lives and relationships from the point when Sean wakes up from a five-year coma. The series will soon launch for a 52-episode run on SPI’s FilmBox Africa movie channel across the continent.

“SPI/FilmBox is fully committed to Africa with content,” said Amit Karni, SPI’s head of distribution for Africa. “We are negotiating new acquisitions with a number of regional content suppliers and we look forward to announcing more content deals over the coming months.”
