Groff is known for playing Jessie in Glee, Holden Ford in Mindhunter, Kristoff and Sven in the Frozen films and King George III in Hamilton on Broadway. His role in the upcoming season of Doctor Who, which will air in November, is being kept under wraps for now.

“I am so thrilled to jump into the extraordinary mind of Russell T. Davies and watch the incredible Ncuti Gatwa soar in this iconic role!” Groff said.

Showrunner Russell T. Davies added, “This is an incredible coup, and a great honor, to get such a huge star striding on to our set. So strap on your space boots, this is going to be a blast!”
