Jimmy McGovern’s Time Secures International Sales

BBC Studios has inked a raft of international deals for Jimmy McGovern’s critically acclaimed drama Time, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham.

The three-parter follows the story of both prisoner and guard as they struggle with guilt, forgiveness and impossible choices. It is co-produced by BritBox North America, which is the exclusive SVOD premiere home in the U.S. and Canada.

Time will also be available in France and international French-speaking territories Switzerland and Africa (Canal+), Estonia (ETV), New Zealand (Prime), Greece (Cosmote), Israel (Yes and Hot), Latin America (HBO Max), Russia (Yandex), sub-Saharan Africa (MNET and ShowMax) and Spain (Movistar+). The series will stream on the BBC First channel in Australia, Asia, Canada, the Benelux and Turkey. Its debut on BBC One earlier this year drew 11.6 million viewers over 28 days.

Louise McNab, director of content sales for BBC Studios, commented: “Time is simply one of the best dramas of the year. With compelling performances from two actors at the top of their game and the brilliance of Jimmy McGovern’s writing, this is British craft at its finest and demonstrates BBC Studios’ ambition for this genre.”
