LONDON: Jane Seymour (Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman), Jessica Hynes (W1A), Jonathan Bailey (Broadchurch) and Shaun Parkes (Da Vinci’s Demons) are set to star in the new Sky 1 action-adventure drama Hooten & The Lady.

They join the previously announced cast members Michael Landes (CSI, Love Soup) and Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary, W1A), who will play title characters Hooten and Lady Alexandra Lindo-Parker, respectively. From the makers of the successful BBC series Death in Paradise and Dickensian, the original British drama Hooten & The Lady follows the escapades of maverick adventurer Hooten, who teams up with the historical expert Lady Alexandra to travel the globe in search of hidden treasures from the past.

Seymour is set to play Lady Tabitha Lindo-Parker, the mother of Lady Alexandra, in the eight-part series for Sky 1, while Hynes and Parkes will play Lady Alexandra’s colleagues from the British Museum.

Seymour said: “The role of Lady Tabitha is a great part to sink my teeth into—she’s not your average society woman, and has a keen sense of fun and effortless charm. She would certainly be first on the invite list to any dinner party!”
