LONDON: ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has purchased a minority interest in the newly established TV producer Route 24, which specializes in high-end drama.

The company was founded by indie film producer Marc Samuelson and co-directors Robert Cheek and Josie Law. Writer and producer Matt Delargy also works with the team as a consultant development producer. ITVS GE will be exclusively distributing all of Route 24’s content.

Route 24 already has several series in development with broadcasters and has rights to a number of projects with the John Wyndham Estate, providing access to the author’s IP.

Ruth Clarke, the executive VP for global content strategy and investment at ITVS GE, said: “Marc has an exciting and really clear vision for Route 24 that takes advantage of his decades in the film industry and the enviable experience and contacts that brings. The global demand for high-end drama continues and we’re thrilled Marc and his team have chosen to partner with ITVS GE to make the most of the opportunities around the world.”

Samuelson added: “ITVS GE is a really exciting company to work with—its global ambition, creative instincts and collaborative ethos make it our ideal partner as we work to establish a terrific new drama indie.”
