HG Distribution Sells Five Web Series to TV5MONDE

HG Distribution has secured the sale of five Quebec web series to TV5MONDE, including the drama Claire and the Elderly.

The 6×12-minute series follows 9-year-old Claire, who ends up living in a seniors’ residence with her grandmother Pauline after calling 911 to save her addict mother. Claire ultimately develops a special relationship with her grandma, despite the many obstacles, and becomes friends with a few other elders in the residence as well.

Also included in the deal are the dramedies The Florists and Home Turf. The former centers on aspiring comedian Walid Bensalem, while the latter explores the unlikely sisterhood that forms in a foster home for “problem” teenage girls in 2000.

Rounding out the titles included in the deal are the dramas The Arena and Dominos. In The Arena, a young mother attempts to get even with her ex in a rap battle after he shames her online. Lastly, Dominos centers on two siblings in the aftermath of their mother’s death.
