HBO Orders Limited Series The Son

HBO has given a series order to The Son, a new limited series based on the Jo Nesbø novel that will star and be executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal.

The project will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, also an exec producer. Lenore Zion, writer, will serve as showrunner and executive produce with Kilter Films’ Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Riva Marker of Gyllenhaal’s company, Nine Stories, and Kilter Films’ Athena Wickham will also executive produce.
