LONDON: STUDIOCANAL has licensed Harlan Coben’s original thriller series The Five to Israel’s Yes DBS.

The ten-part drama, shot in the U.K., will launch on May 30 on the Israeli satellite service provider. The series is produced by RED Production Company (Happy Valley) and is an original commission for Sky1 in the U.K.

“As Harlan Coben is one of the most popular writers in Israel, the decision to bring our viewers his first made-for-the-screen story seemed only natural,” said Danna Stern, the VP of acquisitions, channels and programming for Yes DBS. “The Five‘s plot structure builds suspense in a way that practically begs to be binge-watched, and we are thrilled to provide our subscribers with this roller-coaster ride of an experience.”

“Israeli audiences will find The Five a gripping and intriguing weekly television event not to be missed,” added Katrina Neylon, the executive VP of sales and marketing at STUDIOCANAL. “In The Five Harlan has successfully brought his unique brand of appeal as an international best-selling author directly to television.”
