Greg Yaitanes to Direct Spike TV’s Red Mars

NEW YORK: Greg Yaitanes has been tapped by Spike TV and Skydance Television to serve as director and executive producer for the scripted series Red Mars.

Yaitanes’s credits include Lost, Damages, Grey’s Anatomy, Ray Donovan, Heroes, House and Banshee. Spike’s new one-hour series is based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s award-winning Mars Trilogy. The books chronicle mankind’s colonization and transformation of the red planet. The first installment, Red Mars, goes into production this summer and will consist of ten one-hour episodes, to debut in 2017.

Red Mars is the latest scripted original for Spike TV, which debuted its first scripted event series in eight years, Tut, last July to strong ratings.
