STUDIO CITY/NEW YORK: A spin-off of the hit series The Good Wife has been confirmed for CBS All Access, with Christine Baranski to reprise her role as the beloved Diane Lockhart and Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn.

The spin-off will pick up one year after the events of the final episode of The Good Wife. New characters will be introduced as the story evolves.

The series will be available exclusively in the U.S. on CBS All Access, the network’s digital SVOD and live streaming service. It marks the second original series developed specifically for CBS All Access, following Star Trek.

Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of The Good Wife, will co-create and executive produce the spinoff with Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams), as well as Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer and Brooke Kennedy also serving as executive producers. The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions.

CBS Studios International will distribute the series globally.

“The quality of The Good Wife has always rivaled anything on television and we’re excited to tell more stories with some of the brilliant characters Robert and Michelle King created,” said David Stapf, the president of CBS Television Studios.

“Our original programming strategy for CBS All Access is data-driven and focused on exclusive, premium content that will continue to expand the value of our service to subscribers,” said Marc DeBevoise, the executive VP and general manager at CBS Digital Media. “The Good Wife is consistently one of our most-watched series across digital platforms, and this new series, with the incredible storytellers and marquee talent that have signed on, is a perfect addition to CBS All Access’s premium original programming slate.”
