GMA Network’s Firefly Bows on Prime Video

The coming-of-age road trip film Firefly, from GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, has landed on Prime Video for international viewers.

Starring Euwenn Mikaell and Alessandra de Rossi, the film centers on a young man who embarks on a journey to find the mystical island of fireflies from his mother’s bedtime stories.

In addition to Mikaell and de Rossi, the cast includes Ysabel Ortega, Miguel Tanfelix, Cherry Pie Picache, Epy Quizon, Yayo Aguila and Kokoy de Santos, and features the special participation of Max Collins and Dingdong Dantes.

Firefly won the most awards at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in Hollywood, taking home awards for best picture, best screenplay, best director and best supporting actress. In the Philippines, the film won best picture, best screenplay and best child actor at the ninth Metro Manila Film Festival.

The film is based on an original story from Angeli Atienza, senior AVP at GMA Public Affairs, and is directed by Zig Dulay.
