The detective drama The Brokenwood Mysteries has been licensed by all3media international into Germany, where it will air on Das Erste.

From South Pacific Pictures, The Brokenwood Mysteries is a series of two-hour murder-mystery stories set in a seemingly quiet country town where the newest resident, Detective Mike Shepherd, finds that murder lurks in even the most homely location. In addition to Das Erste in Germany, Prima TV in the Czech Republic has signed up for the drama, adding to existing deals in Europe that span the U.K., France, Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Switzerland, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Slovenia.

Outside of Europe, the show airs in the U.S. on Acorn, with Acorn, Société Radio-Canada and Knowledge taking the show in Canada.

Jonathan Hughes, sales manager for EMEA at all3media international, commented, “The Brokenwood Mysteries is a true gem of a detective series and the vineyards and river valleys of New Zealand are as much a central part of the drama as its engaging characters and innovative murders. We are confident that Das Erste’s German audiences, discerning as they are in the crime genre, will relish the plots of The Brokenwood Mysteries.”
