French Thriller Baron Noir Heads to Germany

LONDON: Sony Channel has picked up the German-speaking rights to the eight-part political thriller Baron Noir, a CANAL+ Création Originale series.

Sony Channel will begin airing the drama across German-speaking territories in 2017. STUDIOCANAL has also licensed the series, which is in development for a second season, to SBS Australia and Amazon Prime Video in the U.K. and Ireland.

Carsten Fink, the VP of German-speaking Europe at Sony Pictures Television Networks, said, “Baron Noir is a gripping political thriller and a masterpiece of French storytelling. We are proud to premiere this series for German-speaking television audiences on Sony Channel, home to great European drama.”
