The French indie Pernel Media has launched its drama division with the co-production of a new English-language short film, 3 Sleeps.
3 Sleeps follows 9-year-old Casey, who lives in London with her mom and two sisters. When her mom leaves them home alone for a weekend, Casey is left in charge. Things take a turn for the worse when her sister Taylor falls seriously ill, and Casey finds herself caught between protecting her mum and saving her sister’s life.
3 Sleeps was co-produced with Fat Lip Films and renowned writer-director Christopher Holt, who previously collaborated with Pernel Media on its hit docudrama series The Real War of Thrones: A History of Europe for France 5.
Samuel Kissous, president of Pernel Media, said: “I’m very excited to be working with Christopher on 3 Sleeps. The film has already been selected for several festivals and we are confident it will land on broadcasters worldwide, as well as be a great proof of concept of the hour-long version. I’m delighted this marks our official entry into the drama world.”
Holt said: “This is a very exciting development. Our goal together is to deliver award-winning television drama that enjoys worldwide commercial success.”
