Seb Shorr has been promoted to executive VP of commercial and business affairs for Fremantle’s scripted business.

In this new role, Shorr will support Fremantle’s drama labels in negotiations of development, co-development and co-production scripted deals. Working in partnership with Christian Vesper, president of global drama, and Fremantle’s international team, Shorr will leverage Fremantle’s global network and expertise to support the growth of the scripted slate. He will also oversee negotiations of first-look and talent deals in addition to IP acquisitions in the scripted space.

Shorr, who joined Fremantle in 2017, previously served as the company’s head of legal and business affairs, international co-production. His promotion follows that of Vesper, who was elevated from the post of executive VP and creative director for global drama.

Andrea Scrosati, group chief operating officer at Fremantle, said: “This is a key role for our scripted business as we focus on international growth. Seb has overseen some very creative deals and negotiations over the last three years, and this new position is testament to his passion for our scripted shows and his unique expertise.”
