Banijay Rights has closed the first raft of international sales for the new crime drama Fallen.

The six-parter, which sees a cold case become topical again and turn the world upside down and intertwine the lives of several characters, has been acquired by CANAL+ Group’s POLAR+ channel in France, MHz Choice in the U.S., NPO in the Netherlands, SBS in Australia, ERT in Greece and Syn hf in Iceland.

Created and written by Ahlgren along with Martin Asphaug and Alex Haridi, the series stars Helin (The Bridge, Lust, Atlantic Crossing) and Hedda Stiernstedt (The Restaurant, Wallander, Beforeigners) and is a co-production between TV4, Film i Skåne and Filmlance, in collaboration with ZDF.

Cathy Payne, CEO of Banijay Rights, said: “As this week’s Göteborg Film Festival begins, we are thrilled to announce that Camilla Ahlgren’s latest riveting drama has been acquired across Europe, the U.S. and Australia. With a stellar cast fronted by Sofia Helin and Hedda Stiernstedt, this new Filmlance series delivers incredible suspense and excitement for international buyers, and we can’t wait to continue expanding its presence worldwide.”

Camilla Ahlgren, creator and head writer, added: “Since 2017 when we began developing Fallen, our journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s been fantastic to collaborate with Sofia Helin and Filmlance once again. It’s affirming to see the series find its audience, and I’m proud that people around the world will now be able to watch it too.”
