Eccho Rights has landed the first international sale on the crime thriller Honour from Swedish producers Bigster.

The Belgian public broadcaster VRT licensed the series, which is set in a law firm run by four talented female lawyers. The drama premieres on Nordic Entertainment Group’s Viaplay streaming service in fall 2019, with a free-to-air broadcast on its TV3 channel.

“I was immediately taken by the style, color and intense emotion of the series, from just the first few seconds of the preview trailer,” said Sven Van Lokeren, program acquisitions exec at VRT. “Scandinavian crime drama has been very successful but this story of four women with heart, humor but also fear in their lives, really breathes new life into the genre. We were already hooked on the concept from the script phase.”

Nicola Söderlund, managing partner at Eccho Rights, added: “This series is already making waves internationally while shooting is still underway, with its fiercely contemporary subject matter, thrilling storyline and unique production model, with creators and producers on both sides of the camera. We have seen huge amounts of interest from buyers.”
