Eccho Rights has sold the award-winning Russian series Silver Spoon to two clients in Spain and to another in the Czech Republic.

Produced by Sreda, Silver Spoon centers on Igor, a spoiled millionaire whose father gets tired of his irresponsible behavior and decides to teach him a lesson by cutting him off financially and setting him up with a job at the local police station. With a natural knack for police work, Igor starts to become a valuable asset to the team—but is then met with the shocking news that his father is the main suspect in his mother’s death.

Silver Spoon was broadcast in Russia on Channel One. The series has sold widely as a ready-made title and was the first Russian drama to be optioned for a remake in South Korea by producer Supermoon Pictures.

Barbora Suster, head of Latin America and Iberia and sales executive for the Czech Republic at Eccho Rights, said: “Dramas from the CIS and CEE region are sparking more and more interest worldwide. As part of the continuously popular crime genre, Silver Spoon offers all the classical elements of a good detective series combined with a strong horizontal story showing the protagonist’s personal development and family drama.”
