Eccho Rights has sealed its first deal for the Swedish series Love Me, which has been picked up by Dutch broadcaster NPO.

Produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Sweden, the series tells the story of Clara, a successful doctor searching for love; her father Sten, who is looking for a way to handle his grief; and her younger brother Aron, a hopeless romantic. Josephine Bornebusch, known for her performances in Welcome to Sweden and Solsidan, leads the cast and also wrote and directed the dramedy.

The drama premiered on the Scandinavian streaming service Viaplay in October last year and quickly became the best-performing series ever for the platform. Ahead of its premiere, the series was renewed for a second season that is already in post-production and will premiere on Viaplay this fall. Season one will premiere on Swedish broadcaster SVT this spring.

Nicola Söderlund, managing partner at Eccho Rights, said: “Scandinavian television is very well established in crime series. We are happy to see that a lot of other genres are developing in the territory as well. We have received a lot of interest in dramas and are proud to present Love Me as part of a growing slate of Nordic Romance.”
