Disney+ Preps First Polish Original

The crime-drama Breslau (w.t.), the first Polish original for Disney+, has entered production.

Breslau will follow a police commissioner who investigates a brutal murder in 1936. Produced by ATM Grupa, financial support for the series has also been granted by the Polish Film Institute from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

The series is directed by Leszek Dawid and written by Bartosz Janiszewski and Magdalena Żakowska. Tomasz Schuchardt, Agata Kulesza and Sandra Drzymalska are set to star, among others.

“This is an important moment for Disney+ in Poland,” said Magdalena Cieslak, director of original productions for Disney+ in CEE. “It’s our first original production in Central and Eastern Europe, and we are excited that such talented and experienced creators and actors are working on the project. We are also happy that our first Polish series will further expand the offer of productions intended for wider audiences.”
